Laton is 10-0 against Alpaugh since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Laton Mustangs will host the Alpaugh Buffalos at 5:45 p.m. Laton's defense has only allowed 27.6 points per game this season, so Alpaugh's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Laton is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 41-6 win over Maricopa. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Mustangs with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 58-23, which was the final score in Alpaugh's tilt against Woodlake on Tuesday.

Laton will need focus on slowing down Ashley Galindo, one of several Alpaugh players who made an impact when they last played. She posted five points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Alpaugh smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matches.

Alpaugh has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Laton, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-12.

Laton strolled past Alpaugh in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a score of 34-19. Will Laton repeat their success, or does Alpaugh have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
