Softball Recap: Maquoketa Valley Beats Starmont for Their Seventh Straight Win

Maquoketa Valley came tearing into Thursday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Starmont Stars get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-5 on Thursday.

Maquoketa Valley's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-7. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Starmont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.
