Football Recap: Pilgrim Starts Season with Victory on the Road + How To Watch

Pilgrim had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Seekonk Warriors 21-20. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Patriots' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 31st in Rhode Island, while the Warriors are ranked 207th in Massachusetts).

Adam El Rhazali threw for 42 yards and one touchdown. Anthony Farhat was his top target, picking up 50 receiving yards and one TD.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nico Bonafiglia, who threw for 207 yards and three TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also rushed for 38 yards. Seekonk's leading receiver Evan Menard was Bonafiglia's top target yet again, picking up 108 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Pilgrim wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 39-6 loss against Woonsocket on the 12th. As for Seekonk, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-12 win against Ludlow on the 12th.
