Softball Recap: Roland-Story Comes Up Short

If Roland-Story was feeling good fresh off their 12-4 takedown of Glenwood on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Norsemen came up short against the Grinnell Tigers on Saturday, falling 10-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Norsemen of the 9-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in July of 2024.

Evelyn Carlson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

Roland-Story has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season. As for Grinnell, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roland-Story will challenge Saydel at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Grinnell, they will square off against Benton at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
