Basketball Recap: York County Tech Takes a Loss

York County Tech played a tough matchup on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the York Catholic Fighting Irish, falling 54-19. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 683rd, while the Fighting Irish are ranked 43rd).

Despite the loss, York County Tech still got an impressive performance from Faith Atwater, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards. That was a full 68.4% of York County Tech's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Even though they lost, York County Tech smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. This was only their 11th loss (out of 12 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

York County Tech's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-17. As for York Catholic, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. York County Tech will welcome Fairfield at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for York Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Littlestown at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
