Volleyball Recap: Bethany Christian Takes a Loss

Bethany Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Triton Trojans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bruins of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Bethany Christian took Triton into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking eight-point loss. The final score came out to 25-15, 23-25, 17-25, 25-20, 15-7.

Sophie Howell had a dynamite game For Triton., getting 29 digs. Those 29 digs gave Howell a new career-high.

Bethany Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Triton, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Bethany Christian and Triton could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Bruins (ranked 373rd) will meet Garrett (ranked 92nd) at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Triton will take on Manchester at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (232 vs. 81).
