Westover and Sumter County are an even 5-5 against one another  since September of 2015, but likely not for long. The Patriots will face off against the Panthers at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
Westover came into their game  on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost  19-8 to Deerfield-Windsor. The Patriots haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
  Timeria Neal made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base.  Morgan Polite was another key player,  going a perfect 1-for-1 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  run.
 Meanwhile, Sumter County made easy work of Dougherty  on Monday and carried off  a  16-3 win. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive  victory against them.
 Sumter County now  has a winning record of 2-1. As for Westover, they now  have a losing record of 1-2.
Wednesday's   contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Westover has hit smart this season,  having  averaged  an OBP of .458. However, it's not like Sumter County struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .685. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Westover skirted past Sumter County  31-30 in their previous meeting  on Wednesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
