Basketball Game Preview: Benicia Panthers vs. Alhambra Bulldogs

The Benicia Panthers will take on the Alhambra Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Benicia fought the good fight in their overtime match against Miramonte on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 55-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Matadors. The Panthers have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Meanwhile, Alhambra lost to Clayton Valley Charter at home by a 39-23 margin on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Ugly Eagles are ranked 58th).

Benicia's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Alhambra, their loss dropped their record down to 13-4.
