While Forbush's win against Mount Airy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Falcons sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Granite Bears on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Falcons, who have now won five games in a row.
Forbush wouldn't go down easily and took Mount Airy into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-20, 22-25, 17-25, 15-9.
Caroline Johnson paced Forbush's offense, picking up 13 kills. Johnson got some help from Kendyl Berrier and her 35 assists. Berrier was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Forbush's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Mount Airy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
