Soccer Recap: Albany Comes Up Short

After flying high against De Anza last Friday, Albany came back down to earth. The Albany Cougars fell just short of the El Cerrito Gauchos by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The loss was the Cougars' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Albany fell to 3-1-1. As for El Cerrito, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2-1.

After both having extra time off, Albany and Richmond will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Albany is facing Richmond at the right time seeing as Richmond is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for El Cerrito, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on De Anza at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
