Softball Game Preview: Norris Titans vs. Ralston Rams

The Norris Titans will square off against the Ralston Rams at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Norris 3.7, Ralston 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Norris heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Wednesday. They lost 8-0 to Blair. Considering the last time the Titans couldn't score was back in September, the team can't take the result too hard.

Meanwhile, Ralston faced Northwest in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Rams took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings.

Ralston saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Ochsner, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Ralston's defeat dropped their record down to 22-8. As for Norris, their loss dropped their record down to 22-11.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Norris has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Ralston struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Norris took their win against Ralston when the teams last played back in August of 2018 by a conclusive 12-1 score. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
