Baseball Game Preview: Maroa-Forsyth Trojans vs. Westville Tigers

The Maroa-Forsyth Trojans will challenge the Westville Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Tuesday, Maroa-Forsyth got the win against Heyworth by a conclusive 8-2. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westville). They blew past Cissna Park 22-1 on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Westville pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Maroa-Forsyth, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Everything went Maroa-Forsyth's way against Westville when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Maroa-Forsyth made off with a 13-2 win. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
