Softball Recap: Gordon Central Warriors vs. Coosa Eagles

Gordon Central had lost 21 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 1-19 to make it 22. They lost 20-9 to the Coosa Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-3 back in August.

As for Coosa, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-12. That looming 20-9 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

For Coosa's part, Dixie Orebaugh and Genna Nicholson did most of the damage at the plate: Orebaugh got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Nicholson went 4-for-5 with six RBI and two stolen bases. Those six RBI gave Nicholson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelynn Shaffer, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
