Baseball Recap: Bremen Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Bremen had won five straight at home, but on Wednesday they bumped up to 16-6 to make it six. They were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over the Pioneer Panthers. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Cole Mason looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Corban VanVuren was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. He continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Aiden Alvarado was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

As for Pioneer, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. They haven't had much luck with Bremen recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

On Pioneer's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabe Scott, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Bremen will challenge Rochester at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Zebras will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Pioneer, they will face off against Culver Academies at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
