Baseball Recap: Dodge County Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Dodge County's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They put the hurt on the Jefferson County Warriors with a sharp 7-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-2 last Tuesday.

Karson Jones was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Dodge County's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-12 when he doesn't). Chris Johnson also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Dodge County's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-12. As for Jefferson County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dodge County will challenge Northeast at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jefferson County, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Southwest at 4:30 p.m. on the 15th.
