Soccer Game Preview: Apple Valley vs. Oak Hills

Apple Valley has won seven straight games at home, while Oak Hills has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Apple Valley Sun Devils will host the Oak Hills Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Apple Valley's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Sultana 5-0. The result was nothing new for the Sun Devils, who have now won seven games by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Sultana with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jadyn Bechtel (2), Alia Collins, Presley Taylor, and Eliana Martinsen.

Meanwhile, Oak Hills got the win against Hesperia on Tuesday by a conclusive 4-0. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Scorpions are ranked 754th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Oak Hills is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those six matches. As for Apple Valley, their win bumped their record up to 12-0-2.

Apple Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Oak Hills when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 3-1. Will Apple Valley repeat their success, or does Oak Hills have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
