Shane Rosenthal of Newbury Park is the California High School Football Player of the Week

Junior wide receiver had 12 catches for 305 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-28 loss to Moorpark.

After garnering 164,132 of the 395,287 votes cast, Shane Rosenthal of Newbury Park is this week's MaxPreps California High School Football Player of the Week. Rosenthal received more than 41 percent of the total voting.

The junior wide receiver had 12 catches for 305 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-28 loss to Moorpark. For the season, Rosenthal has 913 yards on 55 catches with 10 touchdowns for the 4-2 Panthers. He's the second Newbury Park player to win MaxPreps California High School Football Player of the Week honors, joining quarterback Brady Smigiel after the season's first week.

Here are this week's candidates:

Bryson Beaver, Vista Murrieta (Murrieta): Sophomore quarterback was 19 of 28 for 259 yards and five touchdowns in a 49-27 win over Norco.

Bo Coronado, Colusa: Senior quarterback hit on 18 of 26 attempts for 391 yards and seven touchdowns in a 57-21 win over Paradise.

Isaac Delgado, Cleveland (Reseda): Accounted for five touchdowns and grabbed an interception in a 40-28 win over Taft. The sophomore quarterback completed 10 of 19 passes for 239 yards and four touchdowns with 36 yards rushing and a score.

Jaden O'Neal, Newport Harbor: Sophomore quarterback threw for 203 yards and five touchdowns in a 59-21 win over Huntington Beach.



Ryan Rakowski, Palos Verdes (Palos Verdes Estates): Freshman quarterback was completed all 13 attempts for 269 yards and four touchdowns in a 27-0 win over Santa Monica.

Kayden Strong, Hamilton (Hamilton City): Sophomore wide receiver had a passing, rushing and receiving touchdown along with three interceptions, including a pick-six in a 52-0 win over Dayton (Nev.). He completed two passes for 25 yards, carried three times for 49 yards, caught two passes for 61 yards and had 64 interception return yards.

Harrison Novak, Agoura: Senior quarterback threw for four scores and added a rushing touchdown in a 46-19 win over Oak Park. He was 12 of 13 passing for 337 yards and added 23 yards on the ground.
