Softball Recap: Marian Wins Going Away Against Fremont

Marian won the last time they faced Fremont and things went their way on Friday too. The Crusaders blew past the Tigers 10-1. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Crusaders as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Eleri Bredehoeft, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Keely Robbins was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Marian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.8.

The victory got Marian back to even at 5-5. As for Fremont, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Marian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-0 loss against Gretna East on the 6th. As for Fremont, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 11-3 defeat against Mercy on the 6th.
