Basketball Recap: Willows Comes Up Short

If Willows was riding high fresh off their 58-27 takedown of Paradise last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Willows Honkers lost 51-29 to the Pierce Bears on Friday. The Honkers have struggled against the Bears recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Pierce got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rylie Delepierre out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds. Delepierre is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Leah Charter, who posted eight points and 14 boards.

Willows' defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Pierce, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Willows wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 52-48 loss against East Nicolaus on the 4th. As for Pierce, they have also already played their next matchup, a 62-25 victory against Paradise on the 4th.
