Recap: Pocono Mountain West Panthers vs. Liberty Hurricanes
The Pocono Mountain West Panthers's 11-3 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell 55-43 to Liberty on Friday. Pocono Mountain West has not had much luck with Liberty recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Liberty had a senior duo take command as Emma Pukszyn scored 13 points and Jordan Thompson scored 12 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Abby Thompson, who scored four points.
Pocono Mountain West's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2. As for Liberty, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Pocono Mountain West will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Northampton at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Liberty won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hazleton Area at 1:00 p.m. on December 23rd.
