Baseball Recap: Quincy Has No Trouble Against Beardstown

Quincy won the last time they faced Beardstown and things went their way on Saturday too. The Blue Devils were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Tigers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Noah Wells made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted over his last two games. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Cameron Lawson and Kade Parkhill did most of the damage at the plate: Lawson went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double, while Parkhill went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. With that strong performance, Lawson is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Logan George, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Quincy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.

Quincy's victory bumped their record up to 12-6-1. As for Beardstown, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Quincy beat the Tigers by a score of 12-1 later that day.
