Mill Creek had won seven straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they bumped up to 5-2 to make it eight. They came out on top against the Dacula Falcons by a score of 5-1. The Hawks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Falcons, too.
Mill Creek got a great performance from Bethany Sottnick as she tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
At the plate, Blair McClain was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in August of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Zyla Jones, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
As for Dacula, they moved to 7-4 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
On Dacula's side, Tatiana Loera made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and three stolen bases. Loera is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.
Looking ahead, Mill Creek is taking a road trip to square off against Cambridge at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Dacula, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Oconee at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
