Baseball Recap: Tug Valley Comes Up Short

Tug Valley had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 18-18 to make it four. They fell 9-6 to the Man Hillbillies. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Hillbillies this season, with their most recent loss being a 5-4 defeat on Tuesday.

Darian Vance made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He has become a key player for Tug Valley: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 13-16 otherwise.

As for Man, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-16 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games.

On Man's side, Noah Maynor made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. Maynor was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Grayson Sanders was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Caleb Brown, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs.

As of now, neither Tug Valley nor Man have any future games scheduled.
