Recap: Harmony Area Owls vs. Purchase Line Red Dragons

This season hasn't been kind to the Harmony Area Owls, who are still winless after their sixth game. They were dealt a 66-31 loss at the hands of Purchase Line on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Harmony Area has suffered against Purchase Line since January 29, 2020.

It was another big night for Anna Layden, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds for Purchase Line. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Syster, who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds and four steals.

Harmony Area bumped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.6 points per game. As for Purchase Line, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harmony Area will face off against Moshannon Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Purchase Line, Purchase Line and Conemaugh Township will face off at 7:15 p.m. on January 17th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Conemaugh Township focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
