Football Recap: Center Grove's Undefeated Season over After Seven Games

After flying high against Lawrence Central last Friday, Center Grove came back down to earth. The Trojans fell 21-15 to the Cathedral Fighting Irish on Friday. The Trojans gained 55 more yards on the day, but it was the Fighting Irish that made the best use of them.

When it comes to explaining why Center Grove lost, don't look at Brodie Tilton. Despite the final result, he rushed for 129 yards and one touchdown on only 15 carries.

The critical scores for Cathedral came from Jack Watko and Oliver Lewis.

Having lost for the first time this season, Center Grove fell to 6-1. As for Cathedral, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.

Coming up, Center Grove will square off against Lawrence North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least 31 points in their last five games. As for Cathedral, they will challenge Covington Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
