Soccer Recap: Chavez Comes Up Short

Chavez was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bear Creek Bruins. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 999th, while the Bruins are ranked 381st).

Chavez's loss dropped their record down to 0-8-2. As for Bear Creek, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chavez will venture away from home to take on Tokay at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tokay will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Chavez surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bear Creek, they are taking a road trip to challenge Edison at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bear Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.5 goals per game this season.
