Recap: Milton Black Panthers vs. Meadowbrook Christian
The Milton Black Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Meadowbrook Christian by a score of 42-39. While losing is never fun, Milton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 357th, while Meadowbrook Christian is ranked 70th).
Kailey Devlin was her usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with six assists and four steals for Meadowbrook Christian. That makes it six consecutive games in which Devlin has scored at least 25% of Meadowbrook Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Alayna Smith, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
Milton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Meadowbrook Christian, their win was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0.
Milton will be playing at home against Central Columbia at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Meadowbrook Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Montgomery at 7:00 p.m. on December 29th. Montgomery is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
