Football Recap: Belen Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Belen had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were beaten by the Bloomfield Bobcats 63-12. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2017.

Belen's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Gonzalo Cano, who gained 155 total yards and two touchdowns, and Logan Gonzalez, who threw for 90 yards and one touchdown on only seven passes. Cano got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 73 yards.

Looking ahead, Belen will face off against Santa Fe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bloomfield, they will square off against Piedra Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
