Softball Recap: Tahlequah Has No Trouble Against Tishomingo

Tahlequah never let their opponents score on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Tishomingo Indians as they made off with an 8-0 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by seven runs or more this season.

Not much got past Alix Kimble, who gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Tishomingo off the board. Kimble has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lilly Garcia, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Rylee Stark was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Tahlequah and bumps their season record up to 9-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Tishomingo, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

Tahlequah wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-0 victory against Tushka on the 23rd. As for Tishomingo, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Stonewall at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
