Softball Recap: Langston Hughes Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Langston Hughes's offense. They came up short against the Northgate Vikings on Thursday, falling 15-0. Having soared to a lofty 22 runs in the game before, the Panthers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Langston Hughes has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Northgate, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-4.

Looking ahead, Langston Hughes will take on Dutchtown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northgate, they will face off against Harris County at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
