Basketball Game Preview: Parlier Panthers vs. Sierra Chieftains

The Parlier Panthers will challenge the Sierra Chieftains at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a seven-game winning streak alive.

Parlier is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Fowler, posting a 75-25 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Sierra's strategy against Fresno Christian on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Sierra blew Fresno Christian out of the water with a 68-41 final score. The Chieftains have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Sierra is also on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Parlier, they pushed their record up to 19-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Parlier might still be hurting after the 53-29 loss they got from Sierra in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Parlier avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
