Soccer Game Preview: Poway vs. Westview

The Poway Titans will challenge the Westview Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Poway's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Poway is headed into Thursday's following a draw, the team's first since December 19. They and Del Norte finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Westview had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Sundevils by a score of 3-1. That's two games straight that the Wolverines have won by exactly two goals.

They hit Mt. Carmel with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ruby Faydo, Lily Wallace, and Kaitlyn Arciaga.

Westview pushed their record up to 8-4-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matchups. Poway's draw gives them a new season record of 10-4-2.

Poway was able to grind out a solid win over Westview in their previous matchup back in January, winning 2-0. Will Poway repeat their success, or does Westview have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
