The Louisiana high school football season came to a close this weekend with six state championship games.

Three of those were played Friday night and none of them were particularly close.

In Class 3A, St. James (15-0) rolled past Jennings (9-6) 51-14 for its first state title since 1979. The Wildcats outscored opponents 179-49 in five playoff games.

Ferriday (14-1) is the 2A champion after a 56-17 win over Many (11-4). Ferriday's only loss of the season came way back on Sept. 6 in the opener.

Ouachita Christian (13-1) also lit up the scoreboard in the Division IV championship game, beating Catholic of Pointe Coupee 67-22. The Eagles won their fifth state title of the 2000s and first since 2014.

The first of three games on Saturday saw Oak Grove (11-3) put together a dominant 55-12 victory over White Castle (9-4) in the Non-Select Class 1A title game.

The Class 5A title game saw Acadiana (15-0) win a defensive battle 8-3 over Destrehan (11-4) in the final game of the year in the Bayou State.

Last weekend in the Division I final, Archbishop Rummel (13-0) capped an unbeaten season with a 14-10 win over Baton Rouge Catholic (12-1). The Raiders beat teams from Mississippi and North Carolina this season along with a dramatic victory over perennial power John Curtis Christian in overtime Nov. 1.

Rummel is ranked No. 19 nationally this week by MaxPreps.

A champion was also crowned in Division II, where St. Thomas More (11-2) dominated De La Salle 44-3.

Mercedes-Benz Superdome, home to the New Orleans Saints, will serve as the host site for all six games this weekend.

Champions in 2018 include Zachary (Class 5A), Edna Karr (Class 4A), Eunice (Class 3A), Amite (Class 2A), Kentwood (Class 1A), John Curtis (Division I), University Lab (Division II), Notre Dame (Division III) and Lafayette Christian (Division IV).
