Basketball Game Preview: Williams Yellowjackets vs. Portola Tigers

Williams hasn't had much luck against Portola recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. Having just played yesterday, the Williams Yellowjackets will head out on the road to face off against the Portola Tigers at 5:00 p.m.

Williams is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 31st straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Quincy 65-10. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1356th, while the Trojans are ranked 524th).

Williams' defeat came about despite a quality game from Giselle Torres Salazar, who posted three points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Portola waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 53-33 margin over the Braves.

Williams' loss dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Portola, their victory bumped their record up to 16-10.

Williams took a serious blow against Portola in their previous meeting back in January, falling 62-15. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Williams was down 39-6.
