Bentley Schiller was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, Jaytli Cannizzo was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bennett). They blew past Mitchell 25-10 on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Bennett got a massive performance out of Adelyn Westendorf, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with five stolen bases, five runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Westendorf has posted over her last eight games. Another player making a difference was Jagoda Gutowska, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.

Bennett was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .594. Their batting average was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .464 that Mitchell posted.

Bennett's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Montrose, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. Montrose hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Bennett struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.

Montrose took their victory against Bennett in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 20-5 score. Will the Red Hawks repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
