Basketball Game Preview: Lick-Wilmerding Tigers vs. University Red Devils

Lick-Wilmerding is 0-10 against University since January of 2023 but things could change on Thursday. The Tigers will host the Red Devils at 12:30 p.m. Lick-Wilmerding knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully University likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, Lick-Wilmerding humbled Convent of the Sacred Heart with a 68-18 victory. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Lick-Wilmerding's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avrielle Thahar, who shot 53% from the field on her way to 18 points and five rebounds. That's the most points Thahar has posted since back in December of 2025. Another player making a difference was Amaya Tavu, who put up ten points and four blocks.

Meanwhile, University was able to grind out a solid win over Urban on Tuesday, taking the game 47-37. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Devils.

Lick-Wilmerding's victory bumped their record up to 17-5. As for University, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.
