Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Smithfield walked away with it. They never let the Lincoln Lions get on the board and left with a 6-0 win on Thursday. The Sentinels not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 7th (when they won 14-4).

Gavin Gibree was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Connor Curtis, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double.

Smithfield's victory bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Lincoln, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-9.

Smithfield has already played their next game (against La Salle Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lincoln does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
