Baseball Game Preview: Seymour Thunder vs. Denmark Vikings

The Seymour Thunder will venture away from home to take on the Denmark Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Seymour is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Seymour got the win against Green Bay East by a conclusive 12-2. The Thunder haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Carson Staffeldt, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Nick Auchue also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Denmark came up short against Little Chute on Thursday and fell 4-1. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Seymour's win bumped their record up to 15-7-1. As for Denmark, their loss dropped their record down to 16-7.

Denmark's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Seymour hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. It's a different story for Denmark, though, as they've only averaged .256. Will they be able to contain Seymour's hitters?

Seymour got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against Denmark by a conclusive 16-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunder since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
