Basketball Recap: Lincoln Comes Up Short

If Lincoln was feeling good fresh off their 57-31 takedown of Mt. Pleasant last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lincoln Lions lost to the Live Oak Acorns at home by a 41-22 margin on Monday. The contest marked the Lions' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

It was another big night for Kat Clement, who almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine rebounds for Live Oak. That makes it three consecutive games in which Clement has scored at least a third of Live Oak's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aleenah Garcia, who posted nine points and seven boards.

Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Live Oak, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Lincoln didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-32 win against Oak Grove on the 11th. As for Live Oak, they have also already played their next match, a 62-22 victory against Independence on the 11th.
