Baseball Recap: Camden County Takes a Loss

Camden County was the 5-4 winner over Sandalwood when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Camden County Wildcats took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sandalwood Saints on Thursday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Camden County got a good showing from Gage Hogan, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave Hogan a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

At the plate, Camden County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caden Napier, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Camden County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Sandalwood, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-2.

Coming up, Camden County will look to defend their home field on Friday against Savannah Country Day at 6:00 p.m. Camden County is facing Savannah Country Day at the right time seeing as Savannah Country Day is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Sandalwood, they will head out to take on Fletcher at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Sandalwood's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Fletcher's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
