Baseball Recap: Drew Charter's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

After flying high against Miller Grove last Thursday, Drew Charter came back down to earth. Drew Charter took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Centennial Knights on Friday. Drew Charter's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Drew Charter got a massive performance out of Myron Leonard, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI. Jacob Haynes was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Drew Charter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. This was only their first loss (out of nine games) when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Drew Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Centennial, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Drew Charter will face off against Business Engineering Science Tech at 5:55 p.m. on Monday. Business Engineering Science Tech has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15 runs per game on average), something Drew Charter will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Centennial, they will challenge Blessed Trinity at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blessed Trinity will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something Centennial surely won't give up without a fight.
