Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marietta). Everything went their way against the North Cobb Warriors on Friday as they made off with a 6-1 win. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Marietta's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 24th, while North Cobb are ranked 137th).

Marietta hit North Cobb with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kevin Rivera (2), Gabriel Mikhail (2), Maykon Sampaio, and James Persons.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Marietta, bringing their record up to 12-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those four contests. As for North Cobb, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.

Marietta and North Cobb will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Blue Devils see the pitch they'll take on Sprayberry at 8:00 p.m. on the 15th. As for North Cobb, their break will end when they face Allatoona at 6:00 p.m. on the 15th.
