Preview: Redding Christian Lions vs. Tulelake Honkers
The Redding Christian Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tulelake Honkers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for Redding Christian at home against Burney as the squad secured a 52-16 victory. Given Redding Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 493rd, while Burney is ranked 1077th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Tulelake was able to grind out a solid win over Surprise Valley on Thursday, taking the game 46-33. The victory was just what Tulelake needed coming off of a 48-24 loss in their prior game.
Redding Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Tulelake, their victory bumped their record up to 12-16.
Everything came up roses for Redding Christian against Tulelake in their previous meeting back in February of 2019 as the team secured a 65-23 win. Does Redding Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tulelake turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
