Baseball Game Preview: Bowsher Rebels vs. Delta Panthers

The Bowsher Rebels will face off against the Delta Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Bowsher is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

Bowsher's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Scott with a sharp 21-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Rebels considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Bryson Allison made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Bowsher is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-10 otherwise. Allison was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Donovan McClellan was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Bowsher's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 5-1 (and 5-10 when he doesn't). Sean Hartford was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Bowsher always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .688. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Delta earned an 8-4 victory over Toledo Christian on Friday.

Lane Lopez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Carlos DeSantos, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Bowsher's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Delta, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
