Softball Recap: Rome Wolves vs. Villa Rica Wildcats

Rome had lost four straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 8-14 to make it five. They came up short against the Villa Rica Wildcats, falling 18-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 on September 4th.

As for Villa Rica, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. Considering they have won 12 matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Villa Rica's part, Charlee Champion looked comfortable as she pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Villa Rica got a massive performance out of Parker Harrison, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases Harrison has posted since September 5th. Abigail Bradley-Lewis also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Looking ahead, Rome will head out on the road to challenge Trion at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Villa Rica, they will welcome Bowdon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
