Bishop McDevitt had won ten straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 5-2 to make it 11. Everything went their way against the Cumberland Valley Eagles as they made off with a 34-13 victory. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won five games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Nazir Jones-Davis had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 131 yards and a pair of scores. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Williams, who threw for 123 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Bishop McDevitt proved: they limited Cumberland Valley to a paltry 0.6 yards per carry. While seven picked up at least one total tackle, Ishmael Palmer stood above the rest. He picked up 50 receiving yards and one TD. Bishop McDevitt's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.9.
As for Cumberland Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-4. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this contest were averaging 14.71 points allowed.
Although Cumberland Valley took the loss, they still got scores from Zayden Smith and Hayden Johnson.
