Soccer Game Preview: La Canada vs. South Pasadena

The La Canada Spartans are taking a road trip to take on the South Pasadena Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. La Canada will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

La Canada will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Friday, then bounced right back against Blair on Monday. La Canada never let Blair onto the board and left with a 9-0 win. Samantha Hosford was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when South Pasadena challenged Monrovia on Monday. South Pasadena had just enough and edged Monrovia out 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Tigers were the better team in the second half.

La Canada pushed their record up to 12-1-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 42 goals over those nine contests. As for South Pasadena, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6-1.

La Canada beat South Pasadena 4-2 when the teams last played on Wednesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for La Canada since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
