Baseball Recap: Wapello Comes Up Short

Wapello was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hillcrest Academy Ravens. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Indians have suffered against the Ravens since June 3, 2019.

Wapello's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Wapello will venture away from home to take on Lone Tree at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.25 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Hillcrest Academy, they will face off against Danville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
