Basketball Recap: Greenway Skates Past Cactus with Ease

Greenway hadn't done well against Cactus recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Greenway Demons blew past the Cactus Cobras 66-33. That 33 point margin sets a new team best for the Demons this season.

Leading Greenway to victory were Andrew Brazier and Matthew Calderon. Brazier made all 7 shots he took to post 18 points, while Calderon went 7 for 11 on his way to 16 points. The contest was Calderon's third in a row with at least ten points. Carlos Diaz was another key player, going 5 for 11 on his way to 11 points and six rebounds.

Greenway was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

When it comes to explaining why Cactus lost, don't look at Xavier Ledet. Despite the final result, he posted 14 points.

The win was the fourth in a row for Greenway, bringing their record for this year to 5-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Cactus, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
