The home team had won the previous five meetings between Beach and Johnson, and Beach kept the tradition alive. The Bulldogs' pitchers stepped up to hand the Atomsmashers a 5-0 shutout on Thursday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Atomsmashers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Jonas Colmenares made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Colmenares was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Beach's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Johnson, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Beach and Johnson will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Bulldogs see the field they'll take on The Habersham School at 4:30 p.m. on April 7. As for Johnson, their break will end when they face Bryan County at 4:30 p.m. on April 6.
